Clear Scalp and Hair Therapy Review

Greetings Glammy Gals!  Okay, I am really excited about this one.  I had another Glambasador Challenge from Glamour Magazine!  They sent me CLEAR Scalp and Hair Therapy shampoo and conditioner to try out.  I happen to be very into finding good shampoos and conditioners as I do my own hair.  I only go to the salon when I need a trim or want to try something I am not able to do.  Soooo, I invest in finding the right at home products.  Since receiving this product, I have used it 3 times so I feel that I have a good idea of how it works.

Let me tell you a little about my hair.  My hair is already pretty healthy, but needs good maintenance to stay that way.  I do not get regular relaxers, but admit that at least twice a year, I get a relaxer treatment.  The natural state of my hair is wavy and slight curly, so I do go natural at times.  Most recently, I had my girlfriend Tricia Lee to add some highlights to my hair, so my natural hair color was lightened a few shades.  You know that can wear and tear on your hair.
My hair was much lighter here.  This was taken a few months ago.

So, when this shampoo and conditioner came in the mail, I was excited to see that it was for "Damage and Color Repair."

Lets start with the Shampoo.  This shampoo smells absolutely amazing!!!  So fresh and clean.  It lathers really well too.  I lathered up twice and rinsed really well.  Next up was the Conditioner.  After my hair was rinsed well, I always need a good conditioner to comb thru.  I have been faithful to Pantene for years, so I didn't know how this would do.  As soon as I applied it to my hair, my hair felt immediately soft and ready to comb thru.  The conditioner also smells super good!  I combed thru the conditioner really well and let it sit for 15 minutes.  The instructions do not tell you how long, but 15 min was good.  I rinsed it out really well and my hair already felt great.

Now the true test for me is how does the hair feel after it is dry.   My ritual is to wrap my wet hair around my hair (I do not put any setting lotions or product on at this time).  I sit under a hooded hair dryer for at least an hour.  When I come out, I can tell by touching my hair if the shampoo / conditioner combo worked or not.  If it didn't work, there is a heavy film and the hair is not flowing.  If it did work, the hair is very light and flowing.  Well ladies it worked!  My hair felt wonderful.  I proceeded to style it and it came out great.  On top of everything, my hair smelled so good.

I received so many compliments from people at work asking if I had just got my hair done.  I told them, nope, its my NEW FAVORITE Shampoo and Conditioner, CLEAR Scalp and Hair Therapy.  I suggest that you try it out.  Trust me on this one!!

Alien - Thierry Mugler

Every season, it is always good to switch up your perfume.  Thanks to Glamour Magazine, I have a new scent for Fall / Winter.  It is Alien by Thierry Mugler and it is FABULOUS!  What I love about this scent is that it is "mysterious" and it lasts.  My routine is to add it to my moisturizer after I get out of the shower.  That way, it blends into the skin and stays with you.  Good stuff!  Thanks Glamour!!

You add the ingredients and shake it up real good!!

Pour it into your favorite martini glass and its ready to serve.

I shared the recipe with my friends and they LOVED it!!

It was good to the last drop!

Thank you Glamour Magazine!!

Glambassador Challenge: Crystal Light Mocktails

Glamour Magazine sent me this really cool drink from Crystal Light called Mocktails.   It essentially has the flavor of your favorite alcoholic beverage without the calories or effects of alcohol.  They sent me the Appletini flavor and I swear it tastes just like an Appletini.   It is very easy to make.  Just empty contents of package into a 2qt container and fill with 8 cups of cold water, stir and serve.  Perfect for a girls night in or out.  I suggest you serve them in your cutest cocktail glasses.  I definitely did!!

Ok, let me finish my Crystal Light Mocktails and head out for the night.

BEAUTY TIP: No more oil

I have to share this beauty tip for my ladies with oily skin.  I have tried every product that guarantees a "matte finish" or "keeps you oil free for hours."  This product is not only affordable but it works.  Its Milk of Magnesia.  Yep, thats right.  Good ol' Milk of Magnesia.  All you need to do is head to your local drugstore or Target, and pick up the plain Milk of Magnesia.  Not flavored.
Apply to clean and moisturized skin (after your skin care routine).  You can apply via cotton balls or a basic $1 Elf make up brush.  Apply evenly and let it set.  You will probably see a white residue which is good.  It means that it is soaking up the oil.  Then apply your foundation or powder.

I have recommended this to my closest friends and they LOVE it.  For my beauties who do not wear make up and still want to control oil, I would suggest maybe doing a light application so that the white paste like film does not show.  Let me know how it goes.

Here's to a shine free face.  Thank you Milk of Magnesia!!!

Who is the Man Behind the Text?

Okay single ladies.....have you ever met a guy, exchanged numbers and then looked forward to receiving his phone call but instead received a text?  One text is fine, but the brotha proceeds to have a full blown conversation with you via text.  At this point he becomes your "text boo."  Oh, and kudos to you if you finally make it out on a date with him via a text invite.  LOL  So, what's a girl to do if she is in this situation?  How many texts do I have to go thru before I get asked out?  Does he even know how to talk?

Technology has hindered our communication skills with one another and it is very unfortunate for the daters out here.  Sure, texting is good for a quick check in or a "How's your day?" or "Running late, be there in 5."  Healthy relationships need to good ol' fashion conversation.   So, a suggestion for you ladies actually comes from one of my Twitter followers who suggested that the woman (after a few texts from the guy) simply pick up the phone and CALL HIM!  I tried this a few weeks ago and the guy was pleasantly surprised.  I explained that I didn't want to have a full text convo and that talking would be good.  He explained that he didn't know if I was busy or not, blah, blah, blah.   If you break the ice and make that initial call, but he does not return the favor with a phone call back, he may not be interested or may not be the one you want to deal with.

Men, we WANT you to pick up the phone and call us.  If we are busy, we wont answer.  Simple as that.  Stop hiding behind your text messages when you first meet a woman.  Remember.  If we gave you our number, we want to hear from you.

The Pinky Promise / No Randoms Movement!

I am soooooo excited about this new movement I have joined.  Its called the Pinky Promise / No Randoms Movement and I have been selected to be a rep for Atlanta.  Now what does this all mean??  Let me explain.  There is a young woman who I admire very much.  I was going through a "breakup" from someone I really liked.  I turned to twitter (yeah I know that sounds crazy) for my inspiration to get over him.  Well, I found @Heatherllove on twitter and her tweets were speaking to me!!  She described what a random was.  The guy that "broke up" with me, me that description.  I kept following her for motivation and encouragement.  This young lady is phenomenal.   Because of her, I have gotten closer to God and I understand and recognize a random.  Ladies and Gentlemen, you do not need a random in your life.  Please read this excerpt below for a definition:

If you're new to what  "RANDOM" is-- let's define it, A Random is defined as a person you KNOW you'll never marry but you date them to fill a void because you're lonely or bored. A random is that ex boyfriend that is still trying to EMOTIONALLY connect with you and you're married. A random is a co-worker that is switching' all hard in your face trying to get your attention. A random is a unhealthy relationship. This could also go for friendships as well. It's that person you KNOW is messy & gossips about everyone..but you still hang around them.  - Heather Lindsey

Now that you know what a random is, I challenge you to recognize the randoms in your life and REMOVE THEM!  As a Pinky Promise Rep, it is up to me to spread this and encourage others.  Please continue to follow my blog for more info.
